Attached is the band calendar for this year. Already one slight addition from the purple one that should have come home yesterday. The drumline rehearsals on Monday July 31 and Aug. 1 are 8-3pm. As always please plan ahead to make all of these dates as one student missing is a big deal. Communicating any absences far in advance is helpful.
Below are the results of the Symphonic Band auditions. We had many good auditions and I appreciate everyone’s hard work and practice. Sorry if I have a spelling mistake as I am trying to get the results out quickly. Also, if you feel like you have improved over the summer, I will hear you again towards the end of marching band season. Please get audition music from me at the beginning of October.
Below are the drumline audition results. Thanks to everyone who prepared and practiced. We are adding a Pit for Marching band next year. A marching band pit is a group of non-moving percussion instruments on the sideline. The type of music or style we normally play is not changing. Adding the pit will allow us to have the optimal amount of Battery (drum) percussion for the size wind section we have, while adding more percussion voices to our ensemble (mallets, congas etc..). Our drumline has grown in number and skill the last few years and this is the next step up for us. The students listed under Cymbals and Pit will rotate by show so they get both experiences. All students will still parade march. Looking forward to a great marching band season!
