Volunteers Needed for Dress Distribution

We are requesting volunteers to help with distributing dresses to symphonic band, orchestra, and chamber orchestra members on Wednesday, Sep. 8. This is an opportunity for those who may already have a dress to exchange for a new size, and for new members to pick up their first dress. Help is needed with fitting and processing dress contracts/paperwork.  Fitting for student musicians is between 6PM and 8PM.  Volunteers should arrive at 5:30PM in the BHS Choir room. Please contact Kristen Nagel with any questions at Kirsten.c.nagel@gmail.com. To sign up, please click here.

Important Marching Band Info

The first week of band camp is in the books and we are off to a good start! Thanks to everyone who made the door-to-door drive a success. It is a huge undertaking, and the Boosters make it look easy.

This coming week is full band camp. Monday through Thursday practices are 8am to 5pm.  Lunch is at noon for an hour. Students can either bring lunch or they are welcome to go out to lunch. Sometimes sections organize group lunches. Friday is 8-1pm. Picture at noon. Please bring a water bottle, use sun block, eat a good breakfast, and wear appropriate shoes for the week. It is going to be a hot week. We will take frequent breaks, and  the students can get a drink at any time during rehearsal. Our first show is Aug. 20, less than two weeks. We have a lot of work to do.

We have two new gigs that are coming up quickly. More details will follow soon. The first event is Monday, Aug. 16, and we already have a practice scheduled for that morning. We have been asked to play for the entire Bay Village school district staff convocation. It will be a quick gig and we will cancel the rest of practice afterward.

Our second gig is from the Ballroom Blitz fundraiser. We auctioned off a performance of the band and this year we will play at BayArts during a rock concert. The date is Sunday, Aug. 22 in the afternoon, I will get the exact time to you and other details as soon as they are ironed out.

Uniforms!

Uniform Issue Night is August 10th from 6pm-8pm. ALL MARCHERS who still need their uniforms fit must attend. All marchers that require a gig bag, dinkles, hat sizing, t-shirts, polo and gloves must attend. Incoming sophomores need to be fitted for hats along with the freshman! If any marcher requires anything uniform related, you must attend! Please bring your signed uniform contract and payment with you! ALL MARCHERS NEED TO TURN IN A SIGNED CONTRACT! Everyone has dry cleaning fees and are required to sign the contract. If you lost your contract you can download one at baymusicboosters.com. Mr. Allen has a envelope taped outside the office to drop your contracts and fees if you don’t need to attend uniform night.

Incoming juniors and seniors, please arrive at 6pm.
Incoming freshman and sophomores, please arrive by 6:30pm. Not before.

Picture Day!

Picture day is August 13th! All marchers will wear their jackets and pants. No dinkles, hats or gloves for the photo. Donuts and water will be served before you put on your uniforms for pics. Picture forms will come home next week.

Go Rockets!

Bay Music Boosters Door-to-Door Membership Drive this Saturday, Aug. 7, from 10AM to 1PM

Membership Drive is this Saturday, Aug. 7, from 10AM to 1PM for all incoming sophomore, junior, and senior music students. Please arrive NO LATER than 9AM to the Bay High School Auditorium for welcome and instructions.

Students will go out in teams on the route they signed up for. If they have one, they need to wear their Bay Orchestra polo. Otherwise, they can wear Orchestra spirit wear. If they have neither, they will receive a clean shirt when you arrive.

A music pool party will be held the evening of August 7 from 8PM to 9:30PM at the Bay Village pool.

The Booster Membership Drive is our single biggest fundraiser all year, so it is important that all who can participate, do so.
