The 2018 Marching Band season is right around the corner! Here is the schedule for the first week. All practices are at BHS. The rest of the schedule is on the calendar (link provided below). Dress appropriately for the weather. Bring good shoes for marching. Bring a water bottle. A binder with non-glare sleeves would help in organizing your music. See you soon!
Drumline Practice: Mon-Fri July 30-Aug 3. from 8-3pm
Squad Leaders and Field Commanders Meeting: Mon. July 30th from 10-12pm
New Marchers and Squad Leaders: Tues. July 31st and Wed. August 1st from 8-12pm
**NEW** Sousaphone Camp: Wed. August 1st from 1-3pm
All Marchers: Thurs. Aug 2nd from 8-12pm (Returning Marchers stay after for uniform fitting)
New Marcher Meeting for parents and students: Thurs. August 2nd at 6:30pm** (please note the correct time as it was incorrectly stated as 7pm in a previous email)

Experienced Marching Band uniform volunteers would be greatly appreciated! Please come help us get this year’s Returning Bay Marching Band Members ready for the 2018 football season!
Volunteers will meet at 11:30 AM. If you can arrive any earlier there will be plenty to do! The more volunteers we have the better!

New parents are welcome to volunteer – we need lots of help to keep the students moving efficiently! Veteran uniform volunteers are also critical for this event. Please come help us get this year’s Bay Rockets Marching Band ready for the 2018 football season!
Volunteers will meet at 5:00pm to get their job assignments and finish setting up for uniform issue. If you can arrive any earlier there will be plenty to do! The goal is to be done by 8PM, but please be prepared to stay later if needed. The more volunteers we have the better!
We are requesting volunteers to help with Marching Band picture day. It will be held this year on Wednesday, August 8th, around noon. Volunteers would need to arrive at the High School band room area by 11:00 am. Duties include helping with uniform distribution and inspection, helping with order forms if needed, and assistance with uniform collection and storage after the photos are completed.
Please update your profiles for the 2018-19 school year so that you are only receiving e-mails about the musical groups that you are interested in or that are specific to your family. If your student is in Marching Band you won’t want to miss the Marching Band emails. Important uniform dates:
August 1st – Returning Drum Line Uniform Fitting – During practice
August 2nd – Returning Marchers Fitting – Immediately following practice
August 2nd – New Marcher and Parent Information Night – 6:30 pm in the auditorium. Freshman and new marchers are required to attend with a parent/guardian.
August 8th – Picture Day! After lunch, the band will change into their uniforms and pictures will be taken around 12:00 pm. New Marchers will have pre-assigned uniforms for picture day. They will have their final fitting later that evening.
August 8th – Uniform Fitting Night! All new marchers will arrive at 6:45 pm. (Returning marchers who need new sizes or supplies will arrive at 6:00 pm.)
Please make sure your marcher brings the signed contract and fees with them on fitting night (Aug 8). Returning Marchers will also need contracts signed and fees paid by August 8, 2018.
