Greetings, Marching Band parents and students,
We are watching the COVID-19 guidelines and the governor’s directives closely to see if it will be safe to proceed with our shortened version of band camp. Some bands in the area have already held camp, and we have gotten good feedback and best practices from them. It will be a last-minute call for us, so that we have the best information to make our decision. On the marching band page is the marching band camp schedule that was emailed last week, along with the pregame music for everyone to start practicing. We will work on marching band music at the beginning of the school year whether we are able to do camp or not.
Focus on learning the “Fight Song”, “Alma Mater”, and “Star Spangled Banner”. Find all of the music for your instrument in the pregame music PDF and see how many parts there are for your instrument. Use the attached part assignment sheet to find out what part you are playing. For example, if there are three trumpet parts in the PDF for “The Star Spangled Banner”, then you need to look at the three-part trumpet column on the part assignment sheet to find your correct part. Depending on each piece, there could be a different number of trumpet parts.
Music for our first show (Green Day) will be coming soon (“Basket Case”, “Welcome to Paradise”, “American Idiot/Boulevard of Broken Dreams”).
