Middle School Concert Dress is white button-down shirt or blouse and black pants (a long black skirt with black leggings may be substituted)\, with black shoes and black socks. High Schoolers wear their issued Tux or Dress.  Any halloween costumes should meet our district’s school-appropriate costume guidelines and not impede the student’s ability to play their instrument. \n\n\n\nStudent Audience Expectations \n\n\n\nAll middle school students will be signing a Rocket Audience Contract in class as learning how to be a performer and an audience member are both important performing arts skills. Concerts are our best opportunity to practice those skills.  We have included the contract below so you can review it with your child. \n\n\n\n       Rocket Audience Contract \n\n\n\nIn class we practice how to present ourselves on stage to give the audience the most exciting and transformative musical experience possible. But the audience plays an important role in the performance as well by being open to receiving the performance by: \n\n\n\n\nActively LISTENING to the performers.\n\nThinking about the music I am hearing.\n\n\n\n\n\nWATCHING the performers.\n\nThinking about what I am seeing.\n\n\n\n\n\nCLAPPING at appropriate times to show appreciation for the performers.\n\nGive a standing ovation if it is an exceptional performance.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAudience Protocol: \n\n\n\n\nDo not enter or exit the performance except in an emergency.\n\n\n\nIf you MUST enter or exit\, wait until the applause between pieces (except in a medical emergency)\n\n\n\nIf you are struggling to focus it is OKAY to have a book or e-reader to quietly read in your seat until you can engage again.
